Lawmakers in Europe are Pushing Sunday Law

Have you heard about the growing push for a Sunday Law? The prophecy about a Sunday Law is not just a distant possibility—it's becoming a reality.  It's starting to happen… Lawmakers across Europe are working to make Sunday a day off for everyone. As these powerful people in parliament support this change, it's important to see what this could mean for us all. Let’s explore what they're saying and why it matters.
Note that this is a very strong statement, as those speaking in support of the Sunday Law are not just any individuals; they are all members of the European Parliament. They are all lawmakers… These are influential figures with the authority and power to shape and push forward legislation across Europe. Their work involves not only representing their countries but also making decisions that can affect the entire continent. As they express their support for a work-free Sunday, it’s essential to recognize the significance of their roles. Their endorsements are not just personal opinions but carry the weight of their legislative power, making the push for the Sunday Law more than just a possibility—it’s a developing reality."
Now, take note of this campaign message from MEP Gabriele Bischoff (S&D – Germany). She states, “In our fast-paced world filled with deadlines, responsibilities, meetings, and the constant buzz of technology, it's easy to overlook what truly matters in life—the importance of collectively taking a break. Even the Roman Emperor Constantine recognized the special significance of a common day off and introduced the work-free Sunday.
Protecting Sunday as a common day off is particularly important for our societies and for social cohesion. It's not just about having free time to recharge our batteries or to complete other tasks; what we truly need is synchronized quality time with our families, friends, and within our communities and networks. Friends and family are the core of our social lives, and more than anything else, we need this quality time that we can all spend together.
This is why I am proud to support the European Sunday Alliance in our fight for this crucial achievement. The European Day for a Work-Free Sunday reminds us of the need to take collective breaks and to create spaces where we can all come together."

In a world filled with endless responsibilities, MEP Gabriele Bischoff reminds us that even in ancient times, leaders like Emperor Constantine saw the importance of a work-free Sunday for community togetherness. So, she strongly supports the European Sunday Alliance in their push for this common day of rest—a move that aligns with the prophecy of the coming Sunday Law, urging us to be mindful of the times."
MEP Katrin Langensiepen (Greens – Germany) states, “On the 3rd of March, we celebrate the Work-Free Sunday. As we say in Germany, "On Sunday, Daddy belongs to me." As a child, I have the right to spend my free time with my parents on a Sunday. That right was hard-fought, and it is crucial that workers and employees have the right to a break. This is good for our environment, good for our social life, and something we must preserve, especially in the digital age. A Work-Free Sunday ensures that on Sundays, Daddy, Mommy, and my family belong to me—it must be a free day.”
MEP Katrin Langensiepen celebrates the hard-fought right for families to spend Sundays together. She emphasizes that a work-free Sunday is essential, even in the digital age. Her words echo the growing push for Sunday rest laws, a sign that the prophecy is nearing its fulfillment."
MEP Dennis Radtke (EPP, Germany) says, “Dear ladies and gentlemen, I'm happy to support the important work of the Free Sunday Alliance. In my view, a free Sunday is not only significant from a Christian perspective but also from a broader societal perspective. Here at the European level, we are discussing many topics, such as how to tackle loneliness, how to address the challenges of work-life balance, and how to find solutions for the right to disconnect. I believe these issues are all directly connected to the work of the Free Sunday Alliance. I am very much looking forward to our future cooperation on these important issues.”
Dennis Radtke supports the Free Sunday Alliance, this tells us the importance of a free Sunday from both Christian and societal perspectives. As discussions at the European level focus on work-life balance and the right to disconnect, his stance reflects the increasing momentum toward enacting a Sunday Law."
MEP Brando Benifei (S&D, Italy) states that, “A work-free Sunday must be guaranteed for everyone. We need a work-life balance that is real and concrete, which means having time for our family life, our personal interests, our passions, for reflection, and for living outside of work. Today, we often see a blurring of the boundaries between private life and work life, and this must stop. We need to establish clear boundaries, and this is why we must support a work-free Sunday.”

MEP Brando Benifei stresses the need for a clear boundary between work and personal life, advocating for a guaranteed work-free Sunday for all. His call for a concrete work-life balance underscores the growing effort to enforce Sunday observance, a key element in the unfolding prophecy.
MEP Tomáš Zdechovský (EPP – Czech Republic) states, “As we approach the European Day for a Work-Free Sunday, we need to remind ourselves how important it is to find balance between work and our lives. Today, our lives are often full of stress and pressure, leaving us exhausted and full of worries. It is hard to find time to relax and disconnect, but our physical and mental health are the most important things we have.
A work-free Sunday is, for me, a fundamental right. It gives us the time to enjoy the important things in life, such as family, friends, and ourselves. I fully support the Work-Free Sunday initiative. Thank you very much.”
Tomáš Zdechovský sees a work-free Sunday as a fundamental right, essential for our physical and mental well-being. As he supports this initiative, his words resonate with the prophetic warning about enforced Sunday observance, reminding us of the signs of the times."

MEP Michaela Šojdrová (EPP, Czech Republic) states, “On the 3rd of March, we celebrate the European Day for a Work-Free Sunday. Sunday is a day dedicated to family and also to attending holy mass. It’s a cherished time for relaxation and quiet amid the hustle and bustle of work. For us Christians, Sunday is the Lord’s Day. For those who are not Christians, it still holds the important role of being a common day of rest. Moreover, Sunday offers clear benefits to mental health and ensures the right to disconnect for all of us, especially for shop assistants—they deserve their Sundays too. I look forward to the day when free Sundays become a reality across the entire EU.”
For Michaela Šojdrová, Sunday is not just a day for family but also a day for holy mass, aligning with Christian traditions. Her advocacy for a work-free Sunday across the EU is a clear indication of the push toward the fulfillment of the prophecy regarding Sunday laws."
MEP Miriam Lexmann (EPP – Slovakia) says, “Dear friends, as a long-term sponsor of the European Sunday Alliance, I’m proud to support the goal of ensuring a work-free Sunday. A synchronized weekly day of rest is crucial in our fast-paced world. The work culture of modern society doesn’t leave enough time to spend with our loved ones. Children are spending more and more time online, which not only affects their relationships with parents, grandparents, and siblings but also seriously impacts their development and mental health. The mental health of adults is at risk as well.
As a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, I repeatedly call for a better work-life balance and more quality offline time spent with family and friends. Therefore, on the occasion of the European Day for a Work-Free Sunday, I encourage all stakeholders to continue our efforts to turn the idea of a synchronized day of rest into reality. It is essential for the well-being of all citizens and for better functioning societies.

MEP Miriam Lexmann calls for a synchronized weekly day of rest, emphasizing its importance for both children and adults. Her long-term support of the European Sunday Alliance reflects the broader movement toward establishing Sunday as a legally protected day of rest, a key aspect of the prophesied Sunday Law."
MEP Dragoș Pîslaru (Renew Europe, Romania) states says, “imagine a workplace where the incessant ping of emails doesn’t follow you into your evenings and weekends. Let's take a moment to reflect on why a work-free Sunday really matters. This day isn’t merely a pause in the weekly grind; it's a deliberate act of self-care and a collective commitment to prioritize the well-being of our workers, their families, and society at large. Sunday offers a rightful opportunity for quality rest, fostering a sense of renewal.
On this annual European Day for a Work-Free Sunday, let’s delve deeper into a crucial aspect of modern work culture: the right to disconnect. This directive, initiated by the European Parliament, stands as a beacon for the well-being of workers, recognizing the need for balance between our professional and personal lives. It’s a celebration not just of a day off, but of the profound importance of a work-free Sunday in a world where our smartphones and digital tools keep us tethered to work around the clock.
The right to disconnect is a bold move to redefine the boundaries between work and personal time. It emphasizes the importance of allowing employees to disengage from work-related communication outside their designated working hours. The right to disconnect—and by extension, a work-free Sunday—encourages employers to establish clear policies that respect the personal time of their workforce. It’s a call to recognize that employees shouldn’t be expected to be on call 24/7, fostering a healthier work-life balance.
This directive champions a shift towards a workplace culture that values rest, recreation, and the importance of fully disconnecting during non-working hours. It acknowledges that quality personal time is not just a luxury but a necessity for a productive and satisfied workforce. When employees are allowed to fully disengage during their non-working time, they return to their duties refreshed, contributing to increased productivity and overall job satisfaction.
So, as we celebrate this annual European Day for a Work-Free Sunday, let’s acknowledge a fundamental truth: workers have a life outside of their work.
Dragoș Pîslaru speaks about the right to disconnect and the importance of a work-free Sunday, framing it as a necessary act of self-care and societal well-being. His words serve as a reminder that the movement toward enshrining Sunday as a day of rest is not just a societal trend but a fulfillment of the prophecy we have been warned about."

So, what’s next? Well, Sunday observance will gradually be adopted by the USA as well. This shift might start subtly, with increasing emphasis on Sunday as a day of rest and family time. Over time, it could gain more formal recognition, eventually leading to legal support and widespread observance. The gradual acceptance in the USA could have significant implications, influencing other nations and aligning with prophetic interpretations that suggest a global movement toward Sunday laws. Take note of what Ellen White says,
“When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism . . . then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.”— Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 451.
“When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result.”— The Great Controversy, p. 445.
"A great crisis awaits the people of God. Very soon our nation will attempt to enforce upon all the observance of the first day of the week as a sacred day. In doing this, they will not scruple to compel men against the voice of their own conscience to observe the day the nation declares to be the Sabbath." RH Extra 12-24-1889

"It is no time now to allow our minds to be engrossed with things of minor importance. …The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger." FLB 325
"To secure popularity and patronage, legislators will yield to the demand for a Sunday law." 5T 451
"Legislators will yield to the demand for a Sunday law." LDE 132
"There are many, even of those engaged in this movement for Sunday enforcement, who are blinded to the results which will follow this action. They do not see that they are striking directly against religious liberty. There are many who have never understood the claims of the Bible Sabbath and the false foundation upon which the Sunday institution rests." [5T 711]
"If the people can be led to favor a Sunday law, then the clergy intend to exert their united influence to obtain a religious amendment to the Constitution, and compel the nation to keep Sunday." RH Extra 12-24-1889
"They are working in blindness. They do not see that if a Protestant government sacrifices the principles that have made them a free, independent nation, and through legislation brings into the Constitution, principles that will propagate papal falsehood and papal delusion, they are plunging into the Roman horrors of the Dark Ages." RH Extra 12-11-
"The prophecy of Revelation 13 declares that the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns shall cause "the earth and them which dwell therein" to worship the papacy --there symbolized by the beast "like unto a leopard." … and that this prophecy will be fulfilled when the United States shall enforce Sunday observance, which Rome claims as the special acknowledgment of her supremacy." GC 578, 589
"The enforcement of Sundaykeeping on the part of Protestant churches is an enforcement of the worship of the papacy--of the beast." GC 448

"Not a move has been made in exalting the idol sabbath, in bringing around Sunday observance through legislation, but Satan has been behind it, and has been the chief worker." 7BC 977
"When the legislature frames laws which exalt the first day of the week, and put it in the place of the seventh day, the device of Satan will be perfected." 7BC 976
"The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism; they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience." GC 588
"A time is coming when the law of God is, in a special sense, to be made void in our land. The rulers of our nation will, by legislative enactments, enforce the Sunday law, and thus God's people be brought into great peril. When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land; and national apostasy will be followed by national ruin." RH 12-18-1888, p.785; 7BC 977

"The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected." GC 592 See also 4SP 410
"We should endeavor to disarm prejudice by placing ourselves in a proper light before the people. We should bring before them the real question at issue, thus interposing the most effectual protest against measures to restrict liberty of conscience. We should search the Scriptures and be able to give the reason for our faith."
"The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes; for it is to be the great test for the people of God… This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed." 7BC 976
"We should diligently study the word of God, and pray in faith that God will restrain the powers of darkness; for as yet the message has gone to comparatively few, and the world is to be lightened with its glory. The present truth--the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus--has not yet been sounded as it must be…. We must take a firm stand that we will not reverence the first day of the week as the Sabbath…" RH Extra 12-24-1889
"All who do not earnestly search the Scriptures and submit every desire and purpose of life to that unerring test, all who do not seek God in prayer for a knowledge of His will, will surely wander from the right path and fall under the deception of Satan." CCh 320
